Koo, the Indian social media app that was once considered a strong competitor to X (formerly Twitter), is announcing the closure of its operations.
The founder, Aprameya Radhakrishna, made the announcement in a LinkedIn post, marking the end of the ambitious venture which aimed to establish a presence in the global social media landscape.
Among the potential transactions, there were talks with DailyHunt, a prominent content aggregator. Sources indicate that these negotiations didn't materialize, leaving Koo with no viable path forward.
The decision to shut down comes after a series of unsuccessful efforts to sell or merge the platform.
