In Sri Lanka, architectural education differs based on the university that offers the study.

With a three-year bachelor's degree, followed by a two-year Master of Architecture professional degree based on course work. 

Between the two degrees, several colleges require 6–12 months of practice job experience. Architect registration is done by state boards and requires a minimum of two years (104 weeks) of practice under the supervision of a corporate member of the SLIA . 

Some colleges also offer double degrees, such as those that combine architecture with construction or landscape architecture. Some institutions also offer coursework or research-based master's degrees in architecture.

 Landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, property, and construction are all majors offered by many architectural schools. Admission to architectural programs in Sri Lanka is quite tough.
