Conditions for Applicants

• Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.

• Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post well and be

able to serve in any part of the island. (However, their permanent work station will be No. 21,

High level Road, Maharagama or High Level Road, Meepe)

• Applicants must be of excellent moral character.

• Certified copies of the birth certificate, educational/ professional certificates, and service

certificates must be submitted along with the application by post.

• One applicant can forward only two applications.• In the case of submitting two applications the printed copies should be posted enclosed in separate envelopes.

• This is a permanent position. Selected candidates are required to contribute 8% of their salary

to the EPF, while the institution will contribute 12% to the EPF and 3% to the ETF.

• In addition to the basic salary, other government approved allowances will be paid by the

institution.

• The maximum age limit does not apply to internal applicants of the National Institute of

Education.

• Recruitment will be made on the basis of the results of a written competitive examination to

test the aptitude of the candidates and/or a structured interview conducted by an interview

panel appointed by the Appointing Authority, as determined by the Council of the National

Institute of Education, depending on the number of applications received for each subject area.

• An application processing fee of Rs. 2000.00 will be charged in this regard. (please pay your

application fee to the Director General’s account number 607626 maintained at BOC (NIE

branch) and affix the original payment receipt to your printed application)

Applications sent without the recommendation of the Head of the relevant institution (If you are an

employee of a Public Sector/ Corporation/ Statutory Body or a Government Department), applications

that do not meet the required qualifications, applications that are incomplete, and applications

submitted after the due date will be rejected.

Council of the National Institute of Education reserves the right in making final decisions with regard

to the filling in vacancies mentioned above.
